Abstract
This paper reports on an analysis of literature. The objective of the study was to find propositions concerning the diffusion of empirical methods in the Information System Research field. The study was triggered by the fact that reliable findings of meta research, i.e. research about research, have been unavailable so far. Seven scientific and science-oriented journals, whose publication objects completely or mainly belong to Information System Research, were used as sample. We present the design of the study and report about selected findings and their interpretation. The conclusions point out possible means for spreading empirical research.
