Abstract
The exchange of experiences among colleagues possesses immense pedagogical potential. However chances go side by side with risks. This paper examines the danger of bad practices being misinterpreted as good practice – and being presented as such within official events. This scenario is existent for many management related areas such as leadership, decision making, communication etc. This situation endangers knowledge sharing entirely if organisations do not receive efficient »protection«. Against the background of a project with the non-profit organisation SOS Children’s Villages, the problem is introduced as well as coping strategies are presented.
