Using Groebner bases for finding the logarithmic part of the integral of transcendental functions

Abstract

We show that Czichowski's algorithm for computing the logarithmic part of the integral of a rational function can be carried over to a rather general class of transcendental functions. Also an asymptotic bound on the number of field operations needed is given.
