This paper deals especially with the subject environmental indicators, environmental indicator systems and the implementation of such systems in a manufacturing company for a weak-point analysis. Another object of this paper is the question, how environmental indicators can improve a Continuous Improvement Process in a company. This paper consists of a theoretical and a practice part. The theoretical part includes a good overview of environmental indicators and environmental indicator systems as well as their contribution to a sustainable managing. The functions, tasks, requirements as well as the constraints and the causes of defects are shown in this part of the paper. This part does also give a good overview of the Continuous Improvement Process. The practice part of the paper deals with the implementation of an environmental indicator system for the company Kraiburg Austria GmbH & Co. Therefore suitable indicators are built for the company. The company has already installed a Continuous Improvement Process. This paper gives some information how this process could be improved for the company.
