Abstract
In the context of the thesis entitled "Umwelt und Nachhaltigkeit als Elemente der Lehre in Handelsakademien und Höheren Lehranstalten für wirtschaftliche Berufe", it is examined to what extent these topics are processed in the business-related subjects of the school types mentioned. The analysis includes the current curricula of the school types mentioned as well as the textbooks of the relevant subjects, which have appeared in the range of the publishing companies Trauner, Manz and Österreichischer Bundesverlag. Furthermore, the analysis of the contributions made by organizations, associations and institutions and the survey of teachers check how teaching is actually structured in practice. The results of the study show that relevant contributions were anchored in both the curricula and the textbooks examined and that the teachers also recognized the importance. The greatest obstacle to process these topics in class, however, was the lack of time.
