Abstract

In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) hardware concept for sequential sampling is presented and verified. Traditional low-cost concepts using Direct Digital Synthesisers (DDS) suffer from the drawback of a high jitter. This paper presents a radar board with a low jitter clock generation, analogue delay lines and a single-ended down converter. The single-ended version has the advantage, that no crucial components generating the differential strobe pulse required for Sampling Phase Detectors (SPD) are required.
