Abstract

The vibroacoustical reciprocity is proved for systems with a limited number of degrees of freedom. In an experiment, this property is used to check the dynamic validity of the orifice equation for the flow rate of a servovalve. The frequency response function between an impact hammer force and oil pressure next to the servovalve is compared with the frequency response function between the flow rate from the orifice equation and velocity at the impact point. In the frequency range between 100 and 450 Hz, good agreement is obtained.
