Abstract
This paper presents a general description of the situation of visual impaired (VI) people in Ethiopia in terms of access to education, educational resources, information technology, jobs and other services. Results of study on VI students of AAU regarding their expectations, attitudes and experiences are presented and discussed. The opportunities and challenges faced by the people with visual disabilities are presented.
