Abstract

The optical-signal based control surface is designed as a planar optical fiber, on which photoelectric sensors (1.3) are provided. The measured signals of the photoelectric sensors are applied to derive the position of a light spot striking the control surface, where the position of the light spot is associated with a processing mark in the data processing system. The planar optical fiber has a layer (1.2), which has photoluminescent properties. The base material of the planar optical fiber is made of a transparent polymer or transparent elastomer. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an optical-signal based control surface of a data processing system.
