Statistische Analyse der Krankenstandsdaten des Unternehmens MAN

This master’s thesis deals with the statistical analysis of data regarding the staff’s sick leave (employees as well as workers) of “MAN Steyr”. The analysis is based on data from 2004. Furthermore chapter 6 of this thesis tries to forecast the development of next year’s sick leave rate. For the forecast data of the period from January 2004 to December 2006 are being used. At the beginning of this thesis the data provided by “MAN Steyr” had to be analysed and cleared in order to get a result as representative and significant as possible. First some figures such as the sick leave rate, frequency of sick leave and the average age are calculated. In the course of the data analysis hypotheses will be tested and verified regarding their accuracy. On the basis of the obtained results, statistically provable causes will be determined by means of the “factor analysis”. The causes are then analysed with respect to their interdependence. Moreover this thesis gives a possible forecast for the sick leave rate for the year 2007 by means of the “time series analysis”. Finally a critical contemplation of all results gained during the analysis is carried out.
