Abstract
The effect of the thallium and mercury content x for as-sintered samples MxPb0.4Sr16Ba0.4Ca2Cu3O8+d { M = Tl (0.4 < x < 1) and M = Hg (0.7 < x < 1.3) } has been studied. Magnetization curves were measured at 77 K in the range of magnetic field 10-1 - 105 A m-1. The optimal Tl and Hg nominal doping levels x for as-sintered samples were found to be x = 0.6 for Tl and x = 0.9 for Hg. Some magnetic characteristics of the intergrain weak link network and grains have been determined.
