    Abstract

    The Focus of this diploma thesis is the efficiency of environmental management systems and energy management systems, respectively. Furthermore the implementation within the KUVAG’s organizational structure is being evaluated in detail. Therefore specific benefits, needs of adoption and exemplary planning of the implementation are the basic variables of the analysis. Moreover, synergy effects and additional benefits of the systems which can be gathered have been analyzed. The planning of the implementation of an environmental management system according to ISO 14001 is demonstrated by means of KUVAG GmbH & Co. KG. Within this context an analysis of the legal compliance and the identification and evaluation of environmental effects has been done. Finally resulting in proposals for continual improvements of the environmental and the energy sector. The cost-benefit ratio of environmental and similarly-energy management systems is always versatile as well as unique and depends on the intenseness of practice. In addition, there is always the option to use the proposals for improvements only for economic benefits without certifying any management system.
