Abstract

This report contains the results of sociological researches which were carried out by students during practical studies over three semesters from October 1998 until January 2000. The different groups were working on several sociological aspects of the use of internet. The topics are: - exploration of extent and way of the actual use of internet and the users experiences and assessments (method: standardized survey, 350 personal interviews based on quota sampling) - consequences of internet use on certain types of social behaviour such as friendship, relationships between partners or other family members,...(method: qualitative research) - establishment and use of internet within schools (methods: qualitative interviews with teachers, observation of school lessions and quantitative interviews with pupils) - prospects of young people concerning the use of internet compared with their imagination of future developments (methods: analysis of compositions written by pupils and quantitative interviews with pupils - secondary school) - aspects of the female use of internet and opportunities of internet use for women (method: qualitative research) - research on problems of protection of privacy and particulars within the use of internet.
