Abstract

Paper discusses SmartX Open Source, which is environmental control system based on an allows for the implementation of individualized user interfaces for people with disabilities who use assistive technology. The SmartX system will support building automation systems, which makes it an accessible, mobile, and adaptable user interface for smart environments. A technological evaluation of the system is presented. This paper was presented at the 2006 International Conference on Smart Homes and Health Telematics.
