Abstract
Switch-mode DC-DC-converters are widely used in the field of power electronic equipments and motor drive applications, especially due to their good efficiency. If the switching frequency is sufficiently high, the switch-mode DC-DC-converter can be described by a so called average model with the duty ratio as the plant input. In the presented contribution, we will give suoboptimal solutions for the nonlinear L2- and Hinf-problem of a special type of DC-DC-converters, namely the Cuk-converter. By solving these problems, we have to find a positive definite solution of the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-inequaltiy (HJBi) and the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman-Isaacs-inequaltiy (HJBli), respectively. Without taking into account the physical structure of the system, this is a hardly solvable venture. In our case, we get the necessary physical insight by an energy based description of PWM-switch-mode DC-DC-converters. Experimental results on a laboratory model prove the excellent performance of the proposed concept.
