Quaternary pseudo-intercalation phases Tx[Nb2S2C] (T=V,Cr,Mn,Fe,Co,Ni,Cu) and metastable Nb2S2C formed by topochemical synthesis

Abstract

The title phases are prepared by topochemical reaction starting with Nb2SC. They are isotypic with the corresponding intercalation compounds of Ta2S2C. Nb2S2C is formed by deintercalation of Cu0.7[Nb2S2C]. It is isotypic to 1T-Ta2S2C. The magnetic properties are determined.
