Abstract

The digital process quality in the construction industry is very much capable of improvement, especially when compared to other sectors within Austria. Although there are steps taken towards a digital transformation of some sort, the majority of the players in the industry are relying on traditional ways of doing business. This paper is written within the research group NAIROBI which has a focus on increasing process quality in the building sector. The goal is to show how digitalization projects in specific key areas can lead to economical and ecological gains. To achieve this goal, we focus on one of the identified areas and, by using methods like design thin- king and prototyping, try to show how such a digitalization process can be started, refined, implemented and evaluated. For this purpose an extensive requirements engineering phase was carried out and a proof of concept (PoC) was created. This PoC could then be examined within a focus group and a System Usability Scale (SUS) evaluation.
