Abstract

A simple route has been developed for the hydrothermal synthesis of strontium barium niobate with various Sr/Ba ratio, strontium bismuth tantalate and barium bismuth tantalate. The resulting powders have very narrow particle size distributions around 15m and yielded high density, fine grained ceramics. The results of powder and ceramic characterisation are presented in this paper.
