Abstract
Terminology employed in this chapter is explained, especially product and service, in order to discuss differences in the nature that need to be considered for evaluation. Since the evaluation of products and services is often equated with the measurement of product quality and service quality, the term quality is discussed. Methods available for measuring quality are discussed. A discussion is offered of the consequences of an evaluation object that represents a fusion of product(s) and service(s). The paper shows how ex ante and ex post evaluation fit into technology management.
