Abstract

Potential applications of electronic noses in process monitoring and quality control of beer are: the detection and characterisation of "off-flavours", the monitoring of changes in beer-flavour determined by storage-conditions, etc. In this study some of these possible applications have been examined, using different types of electronic noses. Some of them showed up to be a powerful tool, which can be used for support in breweries.
