Abstract
Overhead luggage compartment for aircraft, comprising a tray, which is pivotable about an axis of rotation between a closed and an open position, and comprising a housing, which encloses the tray in the closed position and which has devices arranged thereon for fastening to a supporting structure of the aircraft, and a suspension device for a passenger service unit, and comprising a closure element. According to the invention the housing is formed by two frame parts arranged lateral to the tray, which frame parts are connected to each other by means of cross-braces, and the fastening devices and the suspension device for the passenger service unit and at least one stop element for limiting the open position of the tray are arranged on the frame parts; thus reducing the weight and height of the luggage compartment, with the volume staying the same or increasing.
