title = "Organic Electronics in Memories and Sensing Applications",
abstract = "Organic electronics is a rapidly developing field with a wide range of applications in flexible and conformable electronic devices. Functional materials allow for the implementation of new functionalities, like bistability to be employed in memory elements as well as physical mechanisms to be used in sensors for measuring various physical parameters such as temperature or pressure changes. Thereby, new application markets may arise for organic electronic components. In this book chapter we will first provide a short synopsis of available organic semiconductors and dielectrics, useful for field effect transistor devices and sensors. Then we discuss sensing principles for detecting temperature and pressure changes, a field which is still in its infancy. A tour dhorizon through selected applications in memory elements and sensor systems will conclude the book chapter.",
