Abstract
This paper deals with the modelling of non-linear effects in
a quadrature modulator. It will be shown that the widely
used polynomial model is not suited for such purposes. Instead we propose a cosh-type limiter model. It will be shown that this model predicts the intermodulation distortions sufficiently accurate and therefore, allows for a fast and simple assessment of the behavior of non-linear building blocks.
