Abstract
Linear identification and control design methods yield
excellent results if the behavior of the system is essentially linear. Unfortunately, most technical systems are nonlinear. We propose here to use a new bilinear model class, which is able to approximate many nonlinear systems quite accurately and can also be used immediately for well-known controller design techniques.
