Abstract

This paper presents a novel electromagnetic measuring concept to determine the chemical composition of multi-phase bulk materials in industrial applications by using a model-based estimator. The required mathematical model consisting of an e_ective medium approximation (EMA) and an electromagnetic model (EMM) of the measurement system is derived. Finally, the concept as well as the modelling chain is verified through measuring and modelling simplified material mixtures.
