Abstract
In future our life will be more and more accompanied by autonomic systems. Nowadays such systems
are implemented for navigation problems in shipping, air traffic or in logistic activities. Great
achievements in the development of autonomic systems for road traffic applications have been accomplished
in the last few years. A limited computing capacity restricts the complexity of present
problems and the dynamics of occuring moveable objects.
This work covers the development of an autonomic system which guides a remote-controlled car
through an known, static environment with obstacles from a start to a given destination point.
The interdisciplinary method of operation consists of more or less three main parts: navigation,
pathplanning and control.
