Abstract
The present study deals with theoretical as well as practical questions of ecologically-oriented supply of energy and the principle of sustainability. To start with the expressions "sustainability", "energy sources" and "energyflows" are described and then discussed in the context of sustainable supply of energy. Based on this research leverage points of a sustainable energy supply in agricultural companies are analysed. On the one hand energy saving potentials in the business and the private sector can be exploited, on the other hand renewable energies such as wood, rapemethylester, biogas, straw and thermic solarpower can be used to reduce the use of fossil energy. To put those theories into practice sustainable energy-supply-strategies of an well defined agricultural company are being discussed in the view of the substitution of fossil energies through renewable energies in the fields space heating-, hot water -, fuel- and electrical power supply.
