Abstract
Sociological approaches to social movements tend to neglect political aspects, above all concerning the question of the State. In this article, the authors propose as a theoretical framework the notion of the extend State of Antonio Gramsci, in order to comprehend social movements in their political dimension, particularly as an interference in the relation between rulers and ruled.
