Abstract

In this paper a monitoring procedure for a rotating machine is presented, based on a frequency domain approach. The energy content of several frequency regions is evaluated by analyzing the spectral envelope of 2-dimensional acceleration measurements mapped into higher-dimensional space. It is shown that such a monitoring procedure is feasible under non conservative restrictions. The paper ends with three industrial relevant examples where the monitoring procedure is illustrated.
