Modelling of a micro-rheometer in the spectral domain

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference proceedingspeer-review

Abstract

For online process monitoring purposes, like in oil condition monitoring, in medical analysis or in food production, microsensors can be used to measure the properties of liquids. A liquid is characterized by several parameters with mass density and shear viscosity being of primary importance. The introduced membrane rheometer consisting of a sample cell covered with two Lorentz-force actuated membranes is modelled in the spectral (wavenumbers) doamin. Valuable properties like frequency responses, penetration depths of shear waves, and power dissipation regimes are calculated efficently by the method.
