Abstract
Recent developments in semiconductor technology have made it possible to monolithically integrate the components of microwave sensors. This integration offers considerable advantages over waveguide or hybrid solutions, providing cheap, highly reliable sensor front-ends for industrial applications.
This paper gives a survey of microwave-sensors and describes the semiconductor oscillators, which are the key elements of such sensors.
