    Abstract

The approach of this project was to setup and launch an integrated management system for a small or mid-sized company in automotive industry. As a first step the requirements of the European, American and Asian markets were collected, and as a second step, the internal processes was analyzed to define a well fitted system based on the existing baselines. Furthermore, the company was supported until successful certification. As Instruction and basement for the decision making process, well-known management-tools like TQM, EFQM, Six Sigma or Toyota Production System were reviewed. Also, the principles of modern management systems and parts out of them with main focus on quality, environment, health & safety and risk management were considered. As a result, the integration of management systems with all related problems, risks and chances and the possibility to finalize their implementation with an official certification in the company was discussed. Following the theoretical summary of all those aspects, a plan for a successful launch of an integrated management system was generated. Main focus was on the critical indicators for economic success, and a comparison of cost and potential improvement was established. Finally, the potentials for the future were highlighted.
