    Abstract

    Based on the preliminary study in 2003 and the second field research in 2005 socio-cultural, economic and behavioural changes caused by electrification in ten villages and four districts in the Kingdom of Bhutan are described and analyzed. The study also serves as evaluation report of the Official Austrian Development Assistance supporting rural electrification in Bhutan. The report also includes a photo-documentation of the areas under study before and after getting connected to the grid.
