Abstract
The article presents findings of the evaluations of two alternative housing types in Upper Austria and is based on the discussions surrounding the current and future range of services provided for the elderly by the state of Upper Austria. Alongside selected findings, recommendations for comparable projects are made and potential prospects for future housing for the elderly are shown. The findings of the evaluations present a positive picture: The goals of the project were largely reached even though there is still a need for information concerning the possibilities and limits of the services. Given suitable adjustments, the projects can be adapted to other regions.
