Abstract
Business processes are rising in importance as objects of evaluation as process orientation increasingly implemented in industry and administrative institutions. Business Process Management (BPM) helps organizations to increase their competitiveness by means of the evaluation of the processes which are responsible for the satisfaction of costumer demands. This paper introduces to business processes, depicts a five-step-model of BPM, and proposes a model for the evaluation of process maturity. After presenting an example of the great importance of process evaluation in BPM methods, the paper concludes with an analysis of characteristics of the evaluation of business processes.
