Abstract

Hardware measurements for adaptive digital predistortion systems usually require an FPGA implementation of the estimator and predistorter. Thus evaluating different adaptive algorithms can become cumbersome. We present a low-cost measurement setup where we can use the same Matlab code for the hardware measurements as used during simulation. We discuss the limitation of the system and how they can be circumvented. Also a comparison with a more traditional setup is performed with regard to overall measurement accuracy and the usability for evaluating different adaptive digital predistorion systems.
