Abstract

Currently, there is one topic of highly political, economical as well as ecological importance that dominates media all over the world: it is obvious that the crisis affecting the oil market can no longer be denied as it has already lead to steadily rising fuel prices. Thus, numerous attempts have been made so far to escape the dictate of the oil producing states and provide alternative vehicle concepts at production stage such as hybrid technology. Unifying a conventional combustion engine and eg. an electric drive, experts definitely concede potential to this kind of solution. A lot of investigation on this topic has already been made, leading to the point where theoretical knowledge should be applied to a simulation. Taking it all into consideration, the thesis in hand is concerned with establishing a specialized simulation environment using existing software tools in order to integrate a standard Diesel vehicle and then transform it into a hybrid vehicle offering room for various energy management strategies.
