Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

Market state indicates the Habitus of a government that has been characterized by the liberal market model and has affected even the structure and politics and coins society. In the introduction, market model and market state are discussed and contrasted with the concept of social efficiency. Thereafter, the status quo is presented in those fields which appear worth of emancipating from them: the concept of trend and cycle, unemployment and the distribution of bread-winning labour, financial markets and economic policy-making, as well policy-making on the supranational level. The following chapter represents an excursion, looking for approaches in psychology, philosophy and social sciences useful for social emancipation from economic politics and the market. In chapter 4, steps towards emancipation are presented in those fields of economic and democratic policies that have been addressed before. In concluding, the organization and prospects of emancipation are put forward, focusing on science, policy-making, the people as sovereign and the grassroots movement.
