Abstract
In this contribution we present a constructive method for the calculation of flat outputs of nonlinear discrete-time multi-input systems. This method is based on a coordinate-independent geometric system representation and a structurally flat normal-form, which depends on the system variables in a triangular manner and allows to read off a flat output. We show a constructive procedure which transforms the system step by step to this structurally flat triangular form. If the transformation to triangular form is successful, the flatness of the system is proven. However, if the procedure fails, this does in general not imply the non-flatness of the system. The method is illustrated by examples.
