Abstract
The present contribution is concerned with flexural vibrations of thin plates actuated by piezoelectric layers. Piezoelectric strains are treated as sources of eigenstress (eigenstrains, distorsions). A reciprocity relation is presented connecting the dynamic eigenstrain problem to the problem of bodies loaded by forces. This relation is specialized to flexural vibrations of plates. The result is a convolution integral with Green's function for the stress due to an impulive, single force in the kernel. This convolution integral can be utilized in order to detect distributions of piezoelectric actuators without deformations.
