Abstract
Significant improvements of the eco-effciency in the truck transport of goods can essentially be achieved by using environmentally sound engines and fuels. Among the fuel alternatives paticularly biofuels have been strongly forced in the past. On the other hand those alternatives have been considered more and more critically because of their ecological effects and their influence on the alimentary system. In contrast tot hat so called „E-Fuels“ represent and innovative and widely eco-efficient fuel alternative for the road transport sector. Those fuels are based on hydrogen which is produced through solar or wind generated electricity and further synthesized with CO2 into energyrich hydrocarbons. Methane as a product of this synthesis can be directly used in gas –powered truck engines with low emissions of noxes and nearly without affecting the gobal climate.
