Abstract

Detection of unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data is a dynamic research field. We can protect sensitive data on mobile devices through various commercial, open source and academic approaches. Taint-tracking systems represent one of the approaches to detect information disclosure attacks. In this paper, we give an overview of taint-tracking systems for Android. We discuss the systems and their shortcomings. The contribution of this paper is to provide an overview of taint-tracking systems and to reveal directions for future research.
