Duality and its Application for the Dynamic Analysis of Hydraulic Systems

Abstract

The analogy between hydraulic and mechanical systems is restricted to L-C-chains, whereas duality can be used to transform a general RLC-network into a mechanical system. The dynamic stiffness matrix of the dual mechanical system is constructed from the capacity, inductance, and resistance matrices. A finite transmission line element is derived. Transfer functions and resonance frequencies of a hydraulic network are calculated.
