Abstract
The so-called dissipativity- and passivity-based control strategies take advantage of the physical nature of the nonlinear plant to be controlled, in particular the internal and external engery flows. Consequently, this enables a unifying analysis and synthesis of coupled mechatronic systems for the purpose of the controller design. The feasibility of these design strategies will be shown by means of two different applications in the field of electromechanical and hydraulic systems.
