Abstract
Crystals of RbCuSe4 are orthorhombic, oP24, s.g. P2(1)2(1)2(1) (No.19), Z=4 with a=5.541(2)Ä, b=8.814(2)Ä, c=13.277(9)Ä. The crystal structure was determined from diffractometer data and refined to a conventional R of 0.019. RbCuSe4 is a pseudo-one-dimensional compound, characterized by infinite polyanionic chains [CuSe4]-. The atomic arrangement corresponds to that of alpha-NH4CuS4.
