Abstract
In this paper results of a 1998 in Austria nationwide conducted survey about attitudes towards schizophrenia are presented. Results concern following themes:
- perceptions of schizophrenia
- soucres of information about schizophrenia
- causes of schizophrenia
- perceptions of treatment and treatment recommendations in case of illness
- perceived dangerousness
- willingness to contacts/ social distance
