Abstract
Based on the increasing requirements in the operational pollution control and the consequential chances and risks this masters thesis deals in its first major part with the possibilities of management consulting and its ability to offer solutions. The paper investigates circumstances, which enable the ecological consulting to contribute solving operational environmental problems. By means of an empirical study - 328 questionnaires submitted to the Austrian hospital - the above elaborated theoretical perspectives are critically reviewed. This study tries to define if, to what extent, and to which issues the ecological consulting is asked for assistance. These results are reflected in more detail in the subsequent analytical part.
