    Abstract

The theoretical chapter of the work tries to verify the following two theses: Thesis 1: Due to their specific characteristics, ethic-ecological investments, particularly ethic-ecological investment funds, will play a major role at the international financial market in the future. Thesis 2: Besides society and environment also companies, which are included in the portfolios of such funds, can benefit from the advantages of ethic-ecological investments. After the theoretical chapter has verified these two theses, the practical chapter tries to figure out, which requirements Mondi has to fulfill, to be included into a broad range of different ethic-ecological funds. The previous chapter has pointed out that for the inclusion in portfolios of ethic-ecological funds, most of the time a positive business valuation by an eco-rating institute is necessary. Therefore the Austrian market for ethic-ecological investment funds has been investigated to ascertain the three most important eco-rating institutes. Based on the valuation concepts of these three institutes an individual criteria catalog was developed, which includes the most important criteria of all three institutes. After that, the criteria catalog was used to depict the actual situation of Mondi and to identify which measure should be taken to make Mondi more attractive for ethic-ecological investment funds.
