Abstract
The technical report describes a design best practice based measurement approach for design quality. The approach is based on design principles, i.e., a number of design principles can be measured by a set of design best practices. These design best practices are easier to understand for software engineers and provide meaningful input for improvement programs. The measurement approach described in this whitepaper is fully operational, i.e., is supported by the tool MUSE. Measurement results can be incorporated in software quality dashboards, e.g. SonarQube.
