Abstract
Due to the trend towards academization of vocational education, the question of the knowledge prerequisites for professional competence has gained further importance. The article outlines three challenges that the discipline will have to overcome if it wants to differentiate vocational knowledge appropriately and take a stand on the trend towards academization.
